About Janet Blake

In 2015, I made the decision to leave a successful corporate position and pursue starting my own handmade artisan business. As a marketing communications manager, I was exclusively tasked with sharing my company’s brand story. What took me almost 10 years to realize though, is that I was no longer telling my own.

I came to jewelry making via an unconventional path. After studying cello at the Peabody Conservatory, I made my living as a performing musician and teacher for over 15 years. Along the way, I developed a love for the graphic arts and after more study, embarked on a second career in design. What these have in common with jewelry making is my singular passion for creating with my hands. And what started as a hobby in 2013, quickly became a full-blown love affair.

My work is currently available here on my site, in-person at several Northeastern art fairs (check my calendar here) and on the Artful Home website.
